Getting Ready for September

 

    In order to have a successful and productive school year, we suggest that you have the following items on the first day of school.

 

Kindergarten

Mrs. Nisenfeld and Ms. Trotta

Please wear your bus tag during the first two weeks of school.

1. Homework folder - with two pockets

2. One pair of Fiskar scissors for children

3. One large tee shirt (for art)

4. One large box of "baby wipes"

5. Backpack

Please label all items

Grade 1

Mrs. Ross' and Ms. Devos' Classes

 1. Backpack

 2. Homework folder - 2 pockets (Mrs. Ross class only)

 3. Art smock

 4. Instant Hand Sanitizer

  

Ms. Kelly's and Mrs. Knowles' Classes

  1. Backpack

  2. Plastic supply box approx. 8"x5" (give or take a little)

  3. Folder with pockets at the bottom instead of on the sides (Ms. Kelly's class only)

  4. Art smock

 Ms. Kelly and Mrs. Knowles will be sending a letter home this summer with an updated list.

 

Grade 2

Mrs. Williams', Mrs. Jewett's, Mrs. Hanna's and Mrs. Newman's Classes

  1. 2- two pocket folders (one for homework and one for seatwork)

  2. Optional: scissors (some students have trouble using school scissors), crayons, glue stick and  pencils (Please label any supplies brought from home)

  3. Art Smock

  4. Pencil box no bigger than 8"x5" (Mrs. Hanna's class)

Grade 3

Mrs. Wolbransky's Class

  1. One plain solid color folder with pockets (preferably on the bottom) for homework, class work and school notices.

  2. One shiny "Fancy" (e.g.: Sponge Bob, Superman, Kittens etc) folder with pockets for social studies/science.

  3. School box for pencils, erasers, glue stick and scissors

  4. Two or more glue sticks (no liquid glue, please)

  5. Scissors (I can supply them, if necessary)

  6. Old paint shirt for art class

  7. Crayons (box of 8 is fine, more if you wish)

  8. A black and white (or any other color) "Marble" composition book with sewn-in pages

  9. Art smock

Mrs. Weinstein's Class

  1. Homework book, pencil, schoolbag, and folder for returned work and school notices
  2. Information or books about apples-1st week
  3. One apple- 2nd week
  4. Old magazines to be cut apart
  5. Children's magazines to be shared for reading
  6. Odds and ends like material, yarn empty spool, empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls
  7. Art smock

Mrs. Melmed's Class

  1. A cylindrical container with a lid, such as a Pringle potato chip can
  2. A recent photograph of you
  3. Optional  - a small lock of your hair wrapped in plastic wrap
  4. Optional- a small personal item you won't mind doing without until June
  5. You will also need to bring pencils, magic markers, and a small pencil sharpener

Grade 4

  1. Large 3 ring binder (preferably on that zips)
  2. 1 set of dividers (pre-marked Math, Reading, Spelling, Grammar, Other)
  3. 3 spiral notebooks (non-perforated if possible)
  4. 4 large book socks or book covers and 1 small book sock or cover
  5. Small supply of loose-leaf paper
  6. Pencils
  7. Highlighters
  8. Scotch tape or glue stick
  9. 1 pack of small post-it notes
  10. Multiplication and division flash cards (practice facts over summer)
  11. Art smock
  12. A good silent reading book
  13. A small recent photograph of yourself

 

Grade 5

Mrs. Hontz's  and Mrs. Mason Classes 

  1. Calculator (We will be purchasing these in bulk when school begins Approximate cost: $14.00 Information will follow)
  2. 3 ring binder with 200 sheets of loose leaf paper
  3. 3-sharpened #2 pencils
  4. 1 eraser
  5. 2 black Sharpie markers (one fine and one regular)
  6. 2 folders with pockets
  7. 1 5 subject notebook
  8. 4 book covers
  9. 1 small tablet (5"x7")
  10. 1 1/2" x 2" post-it notes
  11. 2 highlighters (different colors)
  12. 2 glue sticks
  13. 1 old magazine
  14. Optional: crayons, markers, colored pencils, paper reinforcements, compass and clear protractor
  15. Art smock
  16. 1 set pf dry erase makers
  17. 2 erasable pens (black and blue)
  18. zippered pencil case to fit in binder

 

Mrs. Beck's and Mrs. Rosen's Classes

Binder- not a huge one as your desk is very narrow but should be able to hold:

  1. 3 "one subject" spiral notebooks with holes to be placed in your binder
  2. 4 folders with holes and pockets that can also be placed in your binder one will be your homework folder
  3. Dividers (total of 8)
  4. 2 erasable pens (black or blue only)
  5. Colored pencils (eight is plenty)
  6. Regular pencils (5 would be about right: please sharpen them) or lead pencils if you prefer.
  7. 2 highlighters
  8. 2 black Sharpie makers, one  fine point and one regular point
  9. Glue stick
  10. Zippered pencil case to fit and remain in binder
  11. Book socks are a great idea (3) to cover your books but paper bags work great too!
  12. Small box of tissues if you suffer from allergies and need to blow your nose a lot!
